KUCHING: State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar received a courtesy call from the Melaka DUN speaker Datuk Wira Ibrahim Durum at the DUN building here on Friday.
The aim of the visit was to share ideas and experiences with the Sarawak DUN.
The Melaka DUN acknowledges that the parliamentary administration and democratic processes implemented and practiced by the Sarawak DUN are a step ahead and should be emulated by them.
At the meeting, the delegation from the Melaka DUN had the opportunity to tour the Meeting Chamber and witnessed the unique architectural design of the Sarawak DUN building.
At the same time, Mohamad Asfia also briefed the delegation on the background and history of the Sarawak DUN as well as the unique and diverse cultures in the state.
Also present during the visit were State Deputy Speaker cum Muara Tuang assemblyman Datuk Idris Buang, Sarawak DUN Secretary Pele Peter Tinggom, Duyong assemblyman Mohd Noor Helmy Abdul Halem, Pantai Kundor assemblywoman Tuminah Kadi@ Mohd Hashim, Ayer Keroh assemblyman Kerk Chee Yee and Melaka DUN Secretary Datuk Haelmy Mohd Hanifah.
