KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sarawak edged the Federal Territories (FT) 3-2 in the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) futsal tournament to advance to the semi-finals.

The match, held at Samarahan Indoor Stadium today, was marked by intense action and passionate support from the supporters, who rallied behind Sarawak with chants of  ‘Ayuh ayuh ayuh Sarawak ku hari ini kita mesti menang (Come on come on my Sarawak today we must win)’.

The game kicked off dramatically with an own goal by FT’s Mohamad Nazrul Nizam Nazri in the fifth minute, giving Sarawak an early lead.

The second half saw a physical altercation involving Sarawak captain Mohamad Azrin Shahmin Jefery, who was pushed by an FT player in the 23rd minute.

Injuries plagued FT, with a player needing to be carried off following a collision.

Sarawak’s top scorer Awang Irfan Syahreeza Awang Ahmad scored the second goal in the 32th minute, extending their lead.

FT managed to pull one back in the 33rd minute with a goal from Aisar Azhar.

In the dying seconds, Radziman Radzuan sealed the victory for Sarawak with a third goal, despite FT’s goalkeeper receiving a yellow card shortly before.
