KUCHING: Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) is introducing its electronic electricity bill (e-Bill) as part of its ‘Go Paperless’ campaign which will commence this month (Jan 2021).

This initiative is in line with Sarawak’s post Covid-19 economic recovery pillar in promoting digitalisation and environmental sustainability.

The e-Bill is an electronic version of the electricity bill and will be e-mailed directly to registered customers for the ‘Go Paperless’ campaign.

With the e-Bill, customers can receive bills faster, avoid missing due bills, view and access the bills anytime and anywhere, reduce paper usage and help to save trees.

The bills will be sent directly and securely to registered email accounts.

“Customers who sign up for SEB e-Bill starting from Jan 1 to Dec 31 this year shall receive a RM2 rebate in their monthly electricity bills for a period of 12 months, effective from the next billing after the registration.

“Customers will no longer receive physical bills upon signing up and customers will receive their monthly e-Bills via their registered email addresses.

“This will ensure monthly bills to all our customers are delivered timely and in a secure manner,” said SEB’s utility arm, Syarikat Sesco Berhad chief executive officer Lau Kim Swee.

He further urged customers to support SEB’s sustainability and digitalisation initiative by signing up for the ‘Go Paperless’ campaign.

To subscribe to ‘e-Bill’, customers need to provide their names, registered contract account numbers with SEB, e-mail addresses and mobile phone numbers.

SEB also provides various channels/platforms for its customers to sign up to ‘e-Bill’; they can either walk in to SEB service centres, call 1300 88 3111, perform self-registration via ‘SEB cares’ mobile application (available in App Store and Google Play) or via website www.sarawakenergy.com.
