KUCHING: Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) desire to use the services of Lebanon national team striker, Abu Baker Al-Mal, 24, was unfulfilled as the former teammate of Mohammed Ghaddar has had signed a contract with Kelantan Football Association (KAFA), said Sarawak head coach, David Usop.
“Our desire to sign Abu Baker Al-Mal dashed when KAFA first grabbed the player,” said the Sarawak head coach David Usop last Wednesday.
But David said he was a bit relieved when another prospective new import from Montenegro, Milos Raickovic, 24, is interested to try out and wear the Sarawak squad jersey.
“The player arrived here last Wednesday after the transfer window opened on May 15 and now will join the rest of the squad for the training session,” said David.
“I hope that the import candidate can show us the desired criteria and will become a new weapon in the team’s midfield,” he added.
