KUCHING: Despite the various political affiliation and ideologies, nothing is more important than putting Sarawak and its people first.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Central Youth secretary-general Milton Foo said different political parties, who were not enemies but fighting for the good cause of the state, should work together.

“Let’s put aside all these political talks, sweet talks, all these nonsenses. We should be working together and put Sarawak first,” he said when delivering his debate speech during the Sarawak What’s Next debate at Grand Continental Hotel here yesterday.

He called upon all the political parties to unite despite having different views and to work as one for the betterment and bright future of Sarawak.

“Keep in mind that we only have one home, that is our fair land Sarawak; we need to protect it.”

Meanwhile, Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak Youth publicity chief Abdul Aziz Isa said in politics, there was no right or wrong.

“I am not saying SUPP is wrong, and I am not saying DAP is right. In political parties, there is no right and wrong.

“The problem with SUPP is that its politicians have been keeping silent for the last 50 years. When Sarawak rights were being eroded by the previous government, they didn’t voice out a thing,” he said.

Aziz said DAP would govern with good governance and have a strong capable and accountable leader to lead the state.

Meanwhile, Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) president Voon Lee Shan said the party was not here to destroy any political party but to stand strong and fight for the good cause of Sarawak.

“If PBK wins the next state election, our stand is to protect Sarawak from Malaya and regain all the eroded rights.”
Present also was Movement for Change, Sarawak (MoCS)’s chairman Francis Paul Siah who was the moderator for the debate.
