KUALA  LUMPUR: The Sarawak Forestry Department (SFD) received a silver award at the inaugural Integrity, Governance and Anti-Corruption Awards (AIGA) 2022.

A total of 115 public and private sector agencies and organisations in Malaysia submitted their entries for the award organised by the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM) .

The ceremony was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

Fadillah presented the silver award to SFD director Datuk Hamden Mohamad.

Hamden expressed his delight after receiving the award, saying his department is honoured to receive the prestigious award.

“This award is an acknowledgement to the public and private sectors for their commitment to good administrative work and integrity, as well as anti-corruption initiatives in their organisations,” he said.

He said the award signifies a stepping stone for good management and better forestry conservation for his department in line with the development and nature sustainability of the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

Also present was Abdul Wahab Ahmad, supervisor of SFD’s Integrity and Internal Audit Unit.
