PUSA: The Sarawak government, through the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA), has allocated a total of RM200mil to enhance the infrastructure of the Beting Maro state constituency, providing numerous benefits to the local population.
Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor said one of the primary focuses is the construction of a river embankment in Kampung Beladin, costing RM25mil, aimed at mitigating flood-related issues in various areas of Beting Maro.
“RM25mil has been earmarked for the development of a sports complex in Pusa. Furthermore, river embankments in the Sungai Pasir Pusa area, with a budget of RM20mil, and in Kampung Kalok, with an allocation of RM10mil, are also in progress.”
He was speaking at the annual general meeting of PNK Beladin Saribas at the Kampung Beladin Community Hall here yesterday (Mar 6).
Razaili pointed out that the construction of river embankments aims to attract tourists both domestically and internationally to Pusa.
“The existing Kampung Beladin Community Hall is slated for a modernisation project, with a budget of RM2mil, and the construction of a compost processing plant has been approved to meet agricultural needs in the Beting Maro area.”
He added that an allocation of RM6mil has been set aside for the construction of a jetty, catering to the needs of local fishermen.
“The government remains committed to addressing the needs of fishermen, providing various facilities and assistance, including a seven-month monsoon season allowance every year.”
Among the upcoming projects in Beting Maro are the construction of the Beladin Entrepreneur Pavilion (RM8.5mil), the Beladin Community Complex Centre (RM3mil), a new surau in Kampung Hilir Beladin (RM1.5mil), and a covered futsal court in Kampung Beladin (RM3mil).
