BINTULU: The Sarawak government has continued to work tirelessly for the advancement of the state.

In stating this, Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom said that the state has the resources and capable leaders to drive progress.

“Sarawak is a state rich in resources and will fall behind if these resources are not utilised effectively.

“On behalf of the Sarawak government, we are working hard not only to improve the socio-economic conditions but also to enhance connectivity.

“Moreover, we will acquire our own airline and secure a significant interest in a bank, among other initiatives,” he said.

He said this during a luncheon with the Head of State and community leaders in Bintulu Division here today (July 22).

The event was graced by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

It was also attended by 90 community leaders from the Bintulu area.

Wan Junaidi also took the time to engage with the community leaders and other guests present.

Earlier, the programme also featured a welcoming dance performance by the BLF Dance Group and a singing performance by Rhythm Raga Buskers.

Among those present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk Seri John Sikie Tayai, Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon.
