KUCHING: The Sarawakian frisbee team ‘Sarawak Hornbills’ have clinched their third title by becoming champions at the Mixed Nationals Malaysia 2024.

This marks their third championship win, and they were also awarded the title of the most spirited team at the tournament.

Additionally, another Sarawakian team, ‘Sarawak Airlines,’ performed admirably, finishing with a strong 10th seed.

The Sarawak Flying Disc Association recently announced this on their official Facebook page.

“Congratulations to Joseph Wong from Sarawak Hornbills for being named Final MVP, and to Andy Ngui from Sarawak Airlines for securing Top Assist,” the post stated.

The Facebook post also shared photos of their victories from 2022, 2023, and this year in 2024.

These achievements highlight the incredible potential of Sarawakian players competing at the highest level in frisbee and underscore the growing popularity of the sport.

The success of teams like the Sarawak Hornbills not only emphasises their hard work and training but also reflects the supportive community and infrastructure that has developed around the sport in Sarawak.

For the record, the Mixed Nationals Malaysia 2024 was held last Saturday (Sept 28) until Sunday (Sept 29) at Tigre Arena, Petaling Jaya in Selangor.
