KUALA LUMPUR: The Sarawak government wants the right formula to be used in the distribution of revenue to the state as stipulated in Article 112D of the Federal Constitution.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said that the Sarawak government has not yet received the formula from the federal government regarding the distribution of revenue to the state.
“We want the right formula on how the amount is obtained.
“As long as this formula is not resolved, we do not want to accept it at all,” Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) reported him as saying.
Abang Johari was speaking during the ‘Sungkei Ngan Abang Jo’ programme at Four Seasons Hotel here on Saturday evening (Apr 16).
He also stressed that the Sarawak government would continue to claim its rights through existing agreements including the Inter-governmental Committee (IGC) as well as other existing provisions.
“What the Sarawak government is fighting for is for the future generation of this state,” said Abang Johari.
