KUCHING: Sarawak Information Department (JaPEN) has introduced Sudut Pemadah to highlight public speaking among its communication officers.

Its director Jaafar Jantan said the programme could help increase the confidence among the officers from every level and to always be ready.

“This is a good effort because we as a communication officer should always be aware of the current issue,” he said during the first session.

He added that Sudut Pemadah should be intensified because it was a good approach by the department, most specifically the communication officers in communicating and speaking openly, and not only be brave in front of social media.

“We have a lot of programmes that touched on face-to-face communication. This is a trial or test for us to get used to being in front of the public.”

Sudut Pemadah is held twice a month with three officers from Skim S, having conversation on topics such as current issues, government policies or interesting news.
