KUCHING: The top management of the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) paid a courtesy visit to federal Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi at his office in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday (July 25).

The visit was led by Sarawak JKR director Dr Cassidy Morris, along with the new Sarawak JKR directorate, marking the first official visit since his appointment on May 29.

During the visit, they discussed federal projects in Sarawak being implemented by Sarawak JKR, recognised as a Technical Department in Malaysia last year.

Among the projects are the current developments of the Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak; Sarawak-Sabah Link Road Phase I (SSLR I); Sarawak-Sabah Link Road Phase II (SSLR II); the Redline alignment; Trans Borneo Highway (LTB); the proposed construction of the Batu 8 flyover; maintenance works on federal roads; and several other matters.

This visit also represents the manifestation of close cooperation between the federal and state governments in infrastructure development in the Sarawak region for the welfare of the people.

Also present at the event were Works Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Hasnol Zam Zam Ahmad and deputy secretary-general Datuk Zahrul Hakim Abdullah.
