KUCHING: The Sarawak State Library and Curtin University Malaysia are to collaborate in knowledge sharing, promoting reading materials, digitisation and staff training programmes.
These collaborations are contained in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked by the two entities on September 3.
“Curtin University Malaysia also signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with institutions both locally and internationally on the same date. The MoU emphasises the importance of collaboration towards achieving global sustainable development goals,” it said through a statement today (Sep 9).
The MoU signing session was part of The Globesync Centre For Community Research And Sustainable Development Conference held on September 3 and Sep 4, in Miri.
The event brought together over 1,000 delegates from 36 countries, who attended physically and virtually, to promote cooperation and advance sustainable development initiatives.
Chief executive officer of the Sarawak State Library Japri Bujang Masli received the GlobeSync Sustainable Community Leader Award, presented by
Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (Public Health and Housing) Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee during the conference’s gala dinner.
This prestigious award is in recognition of his involvement in sustainable community development.
