KUCHING: Sarawak’s Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) team has been eliminated from the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) after losing in the lower bracket knockout stage today (Aug 22).

Sarawak’s team comprised Amsyar Ahmad Ridzuan, Mohamad Hadzriezam Mohamad Bakri@Bekeri, Muhammad Haikal Mohd Hata, Nizman Abdullah, Oliver Qissven Ibat and Wei Hao Teo.

Sarawak had advanced to the lower bracket knockout stage on Wednesday (Aug 21) after finishing fourth in Group B, with two wins and three losses.

The MLBB team went down against Johor, who secured a dominant 2-0 victory, knocking out the Sarawakians in the first match of the knockout round.

Despite being tied on six points with Pahang, Sarawak’s score difference of 5-7, compared to Pahang’s 5-8, secured their spot in the knockout stage.

Group B of the MLBB competition consists of six teams namely Sarawak, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Melaka, Pulau Pinang and Perak.
