MUKAH: The Sarawak women’s netball team revived their chances of advancing into the quarterfinals.
Head coach Katherine Khoo Sen Sen secured their second win with a score of 74-37 against Pahang in their third group stage match yesterday (Aug 20) at Mukah Politeknik Hall.
Sarawak led 18-8 in the first quarter and maintained their dominance throughout the match with a score of 34-20 until halftime and continued further with a commanding lead of 50-29 by the third quarter.
Coach Katherine said the win gave the team a chance to advance to the next stage.
“However, it depends on the outcome of the match between Pahang and Terengganu (later today). If Pahang win, we can progress to the next stage due to the significant goal difference,” she said after the match on Tuesday (Aug 20).
She added that the team’s primary focus is to continue winning without worrying about the scores and to maintain high spirits for the upcoming matches.
Katherine expressed hope that the team could secure a big win with a score of 100 in their final match against Brunei.
Sarawak will face Brunei later today (Aug 21) for a chance to advance into the quarterfinals.
