KUCHING: Pan Borneo Highway Project has achieved 60 percent overall progress in Sarawak, said Senior Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
He noted that the project was behind schedule following the implementation of movement control order (MCO) and Covid-19 pandemic.
“I foresee there will be at least about one and a half year delay.
“Hence, we are now finding ways on how we can fast track the completion by appointing companies to help Public Works Department (JKR) in monitoring the implementation of the project,” he said.
Fadillah also mentioned that the Pan Borneo Highway Project in Sabah has achieved about 45 percent completion as of January this year.
“Sabah has about 10 packages currently in ongoing implementation while five more packages are at tendering process.
“Sarawak on the other hand, has 11 packages,” he added.
The project was initially scheduled to complete by next year.
