KANOWIT: Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi described Sarawak as the country’s best example of a united multi-racial state.

Speaking at the ‘Pangkung Tiang’ Gawai ceremony at Rumah Adrian Luang, Bukit Temedak, Bawan here on Sunday (June 5), he said this could be seen in every celebration of various festivals in the state celebrated by all communities regardless of race, religion, background, or political affiliation.

He stressed that the unity that had been forged for so long should be maintained.

In this regard, Nanta opined that the ‘Ngabang Gawai’ programme was the best platform to visit relatives and acquaintances who had long been separated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the meantime, he also hoped that the people would continue to support the leadership of the current government to maintain political stability and governance in Sarawak and nationwide.

Nanta said the close cooperation between the GPS government and Putrajaya was seen as good in driving Malaysia towards a competitive economy.
