KUCHING: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) will take the giant share of 47 seats while DAP and Amanah will contest in 26 and nine seats respectively in the coming state election.
“We (Sarawak PH) will contest in all 82 seats at stake. We will stick to the earlier agreement that PKR contests in 47 seats, DAP, 26 and Amanah, nine,” said Sarawak PH chairman Chong Chieng Jen on Thursday (Nov 25).
He told a press conference here that the parties under Sarawak PH would use their own respective logos to contest in the election.
“PKR will use its own logo, while DAP, the rocket and Amanah its own logo,” he explained.
On Sarawak PH candidates’ line-up, Chong, who is also DAP Sarawak chairman, said the coalition would leave it to the respective parties to decide on their candidates.
PKR will contest in Opar, Tanjung Dato, Pantai Damai, Tupong, Satok, Batu Lintang, Asajaya, Serembu, Tarat, Tebedu, Sadong Jaya, Simunjan, Lingga, Beting Maro, Balai Ringin, Bukit Begunan, Engkilili, Batang Ai, Saribas, Layar, Bukit Saban, Kalaka, Krian, Daro, Pakan, Meluan, Ngemah, Machan, Nangka, Dalat, Tellian, Balingian, Tamin, Kakus, Katibas, Belaga, Murum, Jepak, Bekenu, Lambir, Marudi, Telang Usan, Mulu, Bukit Kota, Batu Danau, Ba Kelalan and Bukit Sari.
DAP will go for Tasik Biru, Padungan, Pending, Kota Sentosa, Batu Kitang, Batu Kawah, Stakan, Mambong, Kedup, Bukit Semuja, Simanggang, Repok, Meradong, Bukit Assek, Dudong, Bawang Assan, Pelawan, Pelagus, Bukit Goram, Baleh, Tanjong Batu, Kemena, Samalaju, Piasau, Pujut and Senadin.
Amanah Sarawak, on the other hand, will field candidates in Demak Laut, Samariang, Muara Tuang, Gedong, Sebuyau, Kabong, Kuala Rajang, Semop and Jemoreng.
Chong said, the outcome of the just concluded Malacca state elections aside, Sarawak PH would strive to give Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) a good fight in the coming polls.
