KUCHING: Sarawak PKR will use the Pakatan Harapan (PH) logo in the 15th general election (GE15).
Its deputy chairman Abun Sui said it has been decided by the PH Presidential Council that all coalition partners use only one logo in the election.
“We hope Sarawak PH, particular PKR, will contribute towards forming the next government after GE15 with our PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“We are confident in the wisdom of Sarawak voters, who will determine a better future for the country,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Meanwhile, Abun said Abang Zulkifli Abang Engkeh has been appointed as the election director for Sarawak PKR. He will be assisted by four deputies, namely Piee Ling, Dominique Ng Kim Ho, Joshua Jabeng and Ahmad Nazib Johari.
However, it is not known if the DAP would also use the PH logo. It could not be reached for comment.
In the 2018 general election, Sarawak DAP decided to use its party logo to maximise its winning chances, and to ‘avoid confusion’ as it claimed voters were more familiar with its ‘rocket’ symbol.
Nevertheless, DAP election candidates in Malaya contested under a single common logo together with the other PH partners in GE14.
Amanah, on the other hand, used PKR’s ‘blue eye’ logo in Sarawak in 2018.
