KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 760 new cases of Covid-19 throughout epidemiology (epid) week 34.
The number was a marginal decrease of only 38 cases compared to the previous epid week’s 798 cases.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its weekly Covid-19 update said 742 of the total new cases were categories 1 and 2, while 18 cases fell into categories 3, 4 and 5.
“Kuching once again emerged as top of the list with 233 new cases reported. This was followed by Miri with 118 cases, while Sibu and Bintulu reported 98 and 84 cases respectively.
“Of the 40 districts in Sarawak, only Tebedu recorded zero cases during Epid Week 34,” SDMC said on Monday (Aug 29).
Sarawak also saw a decrease in Covid-19 related deaths with only two cases reported throughout Epid Week 34 compared to three cases in the previous epid week. “The death cases were recorded in Samarahan and Sarikei.”
