Sarawak records 789 Covid-19 cases in epid week 33

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded a total of 789 Covid-19 cases during epidemiology (epid) week 33, compared to 731 cases during epid week 31.

Of the total number of cases during epid week 33, 778 out of the 798 cases were in category one and two, while 20 cases were in category three, four and five.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its weekly Covid-19 update also said three Covid-19 related deaths were recorded in the same week, with one reported in Kuching, and two in Sibu.

In epid week 33, SDMC said Kuching recorded the highest number of cases at 242, followed by Miri (110), Sibu (138), Samarahan (31), Serian (21), Sarikei (20), Bau (17) and Mukah (11).

Eight cases each were recorded in Lawas, Kapit, Subis and Betong; six cases each in Dalat and Sri Aman; five cases each in Limbang and Tatau; four cases each in Kanowit, Simunjan, Lubok Antu and Kabong; three cases each in Selangau, Daro and Meradong, two cases each in Asajaya, Beluru, Pusa, Lundu and Sebauh.

Meanwhile, one case each was recorded in Saratok, Marudi, Telang Usan, Julau, Song and Pakan.
