KUCHING:  It’s very timely and appropriate that Sarawak was chosen as the venue for the 2023 edition of the Shape the World Summit, said Datuk Chris Chung.

The TSG group chief executive officer said the summit has been held in Singapore and all over the region since 2005.

He said the TSG Group is honoured to be the co-host of the annual impact change summit with its strategic partner, Consulus.

“Being the largest state in Malaysia and third largest contributor to the country’s GDP, the state government has a clear vision and goals for establishing the foundation to advance Sarawak towards developed state status and high-income economy.

“The state’s Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) and Digital Economy Blueprint have provided the framework to be the leading green economy as well as digital economy and society by 2030,” he said at the Shape the World Summit 2023 gala dinner here last night (June 21).

Describing the TSG Group as his inspiration to build and grow a Sarawak-based company which can eventually become a global brand for the betterment of Sarawakians, Chung said the group strives to be impact-oriented and sustainability-driven.

“Our concept is to present one unified group with the purpose of showcasing Sarawak not just as a land of resources, but as a place for ideas, innovation, and impact as well. By doing so, it will help strengthen the perception of people near and far about Sarawak as a place for the future too,” he said.

TSG Group is involved in infrastructure and rural development, property development, oil palm plantation, RT-Paulownia tree plantation for environmental sustainability and future economy projects focusing on FEDS (food-tech, environment, data, and space).

“We are the first to set up a tissue culture lab in Sarawak, to rapidly mass produce identical clones of RT-Paulownia, through a bioprocess of micropropagation. We have named the RT-Paulownia planted trees the FutureTrees, as a symbol of our commitment to sustainable development for the future generation.

“In the property development sector, Saradise spearheads TSG Group’s approach towards adopting the Sarawakian method for holistic township development, in Kuching. We want to build a well-landscaped and integrated living environment with a difference, to showcase the best of Sarawak’s identity and innovation to the world, through lifestyle brands in property and hospitality, while promoting an eco-friendly and healthy living,” he said.
