KUALA LUMPUR: The decision on merging schools with a small population of pupils in Sarawak will be based on discussions with the parents and local community, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.
Deputy Education Minister Teo Nie Ching said there is no recommendation to do the same for secondary schools in the state as yet.
“The Ministry has not specified the number of primary schools that must be merged because it will be decided on a case-by-case basis depending on things like low enrollment and if the school is in good condition, safe and conducive to learning,” she said. – Bernama
