KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak takes centre stage, debuting at EVENTXPO 2024, the latest business-to-business (B2B) trade show during Malaysia Events Week.

This debut brings twelve exhibitors from Kuching, Sibu, and Miri together to advocate for business event legacies in Peninsular Malaysia and drive industry growth in line with the Tribe Legacy Sarawak campaign.

In a statement released today (Aug 21), Amelia Roziman, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), said the long-term, positive impact of business events is not just for Sarawak but for Malaysia to accelerate its social and economic progress.

“Besides monitoring and validating legacy impact, the second year of the Legacy Impact Master Action Plan (Legacy MAP) is a good time to communicate the legacy brand and embed the mindset in the Peninsular industry, thus attracting the right business events to Sarawak,” she added.

Amelia expressed that Sarawak has made a strong first impression, securing several quality appointments with business event planners and has received positive feedback about the legacy direction.

Sarawak’s participation in EVENTXPO 2024 and Malaysia Business Events Week is a key strategy of the Tribe Legacy Sarawak campaign, designed to build strategic partnerships within and outside the business events sector and boost the impact of business events throughout Malaysia.

Meanwhile, the President of the Malaysian Association of Conference and Exhibition Organizers and Suppliers (MACEOS), Datuk Dr. M. Gandhi, stated that MACEOS has a clear strategic roadmap.

“We want to position ourselves as an industry consultant that will advocate for business events as a key economic contributor while providing education to the industry, and we want Malaysia to become the business events hub in ASEAN,” he said.

EVENTXPO 2024 organized by MACEOS was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, launching a transformative three-day event starting August 19.
