The presentation of the appointment letters was witnessed by Datuk Maznah Dasmi, secretary of the Sarawak Skills Management Council.
Commenting on the latest development, Hallman Sabri, the executive director of the Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions and chairman of the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC) said the establishment of the Industry Driven and Consultative Services Committee was part and parcel of the ongoing initiatives to transform Sarawak Skills into a hub of industry-driven talent development.
“This new committee, the eighth strategic committee under the Sarawak Skills Management Council, will be instrumental in our ongoing transformation to be a consultant and solution provider of choice to the industries in Sarawak through the provision of consultative services and training in line with industry needs.
“We will also enhance further our ties with the government and GLCs in our role as a credible provider of industrial-driven education and training,” he said.
On digital economy and Industry Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0), Hallman said a key area would be the emphasis on digitalisation and automation to achieve the objectives of improved efficiency and productivity across Sarawak’s main engines of growth.
“As we chart the way forward, there will be many opportunities for us to synergise our expertise and resources with our stakeholders, especially the government and the industries.”
