KUCHING: Every ardent reader’s favourite, the Sarawak State Library, has lined up a series of online programmes from June 7 until 11 in conjunction with International Archive Week themed ‘Empowering Archives’.

June 7, 9am to 5pm
Title: Records and Archives Management in Our Department
This will be a video sharing from Sarawak government departments and agencies on the experience of working with the arawak State Library on the management of records and archives in their respective departments.
June 8, 9am to 11am
Title: Records and Archive Management Forum: Accountability and Information Transparency
This forum will cover topics related to accountability and transparency of information in the form of records in Sarawak government departments and agencies. The panel of speakers will be from the State Attorney General’s Office, Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) and the Sarawak Land and Survey Department.
June 9, 2pm to 11pm
Title: Casual Talk: Delivery of Records and Archive Services During the Covid-19 Pandemic
This casual talk focuses on how archival institutions or departments in Malaysia deal with the Covid-19 pandemic situation. The panel of speakers will be from the National Archives of Malaysia, Sabah State Archives and Sarawak State Library.
June 10, 2pm to 4pm
Title: Career Prospects in Records and Archives Management
This will be a sharing session by invited speakers on the career prospects in the field of records and archives management. The panel of speakers are Suhaida Halamy, senior lecturer of the Faculty of Information Management (UiTM) and Adly Izmal, archiving specialist (ADNOC Drilling).
