Sarawak State Library to hold Literacy and ICT Skills Programme at Bunan Gegar Village Library

KUCHING: In conjunction with the ‘Juh Neroka Ilmu’ programme which will be held at Bunan Gegar Village Library today and tomorrow from 9am to 4pm, Sarawak State Library will organise an ICT and Information Literacy skills programme.

Amongst the various interesting activities that await the community are ‘My Favourite Read’ session, children activities, ‘Do-It-Yourself’ and ‘3D Printing’ session.

This programme aims to increase knowledge and learning exposure about technology (ICT) apart from implementing the importance of reading among the community.

Participants consisting of children, youths and senior citizens are given the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and self-confidence in digital literacy through the skills of using computer, internet, emails and social media.

From this programme, participants are hoped to at least have the skills and ability to read newspapers, minutes of meetings, signboards besides the ability to master and communicate through electronic devices such as iPad, tablets, computers and laptops.
