SIBU: The progress enjoyed by Sarawak under the leadership of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) serves as the best example for states within Malaysia.
According to Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, the use of the Iban phrase ‘Segulai Sejalai’ as the slogan for national unity has made Sarawak proud.
The Prime Minister has always acknowledged that Sarawak is advancing, Sarawak being governed by GPS and SUPP which is an important component within GPS,” he said.
He made these remarks at the Ngiling Bidai 2023 event organised by the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan branch, here Saturday (June 10).
Dr Sim, who is also SUPP President called on the youth of Sarawak to seize the opportunities that arise with the implementation of development policies by the GPS government.
“The youth of Sarawak must take advantage of this opportunity; otherwise, it will simply pass them by.
The younger generation must study diligently and, importantly, learn what is in line with market demands.
“’Anak Sarawak’ must seize the opportunity to acquire knowledge. We currently have leadership under Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari. However, this knowledge must be passed down to all younger generations so that they can advance and prosper Sarawak,” he said.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Michael Tiang, Bukit Assek Assemblyman Joseph Chieng, SUPP Bawang Assan Branch Chairman Robert Lau Hui Yew, Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau, Temenggong Stanley Gramong Bandar and others.
