SARATOK: Sarawak will continue to experience rapid development next year, especially in rural areas.
Political Secretary to the Premier, Bell Bernard Aggan, said the large RM12.363 billion state budget prepared proves the commitment of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government to see Bumi Kenyalang go forward.
“Believe me, Sarawak will continue to be ahead of other states,” he said at a pre-New Year celebration here.
“Therefore, the people should work together with the government so as not to miss out on the wave of development brought about by the Sarawak government’s Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030,” he said.
Bell who also heads the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Krian Branch called on the people in the state to strengthen their unity, pointing out this is crucial in the effort to develop the state.
He also expressed his appreciation to the organisers for the many programmes ahead of the new year celebration.
“Saratok is lively again with the celebration of the new year programme.
“Various activities and events are planned to entertain the visitors,” he said, adding that the programme that started on Dec 16 will continue until the night of Dec 31.
Special Functions Officer to the Deputy Prime Minister, Leonard Jambu, and Saratok District Council Secretary Mcrea Josef Preira were also present.
