MIRI: The Sarawak women’s rugby team achieved a resounding victory over Melaka, defeating them 26-0 in a SUKMA rugby match at the Miri Stadium this afternoon.
This win marks their second triumph of the day, following their victory against Kedah in the morning.
The match, which kicked off at 1.13 pm, saw a strong and consistent performance from Sarawak, preventing Melaka from scoring throughout the game.
The crowd, predominantly Sarawak supporters, filled the stadium with the chant of ‘Agi idup agi ngelaban’, a phrase that has become synonymous with the team’s fighting spirit.
In contrast, the Sarawak men’s rugby team had a tougher challenge, suffering two losses in their recent games.
They are set to play against Pahang later today, with the match scheduled to begin at 3.08 pm.
