SIBU: Sarawak’s women’s volleyball team suffered a setback yesterday (Aug 19), losing 0-3 to Selangor in their second Group Y match at the 21st Malaysian Games (SUKMA).
The team struggled to find their rhythm, dropping the first two sets 20-25 and 23-25.
Selangor continued their dominance in the third, leading 10-7 before Sarawak fought back to level the score at 19-all.
However, the Selangor side proved too strong, clinching the set 25-22.
The defeat leaves both Sarawak and Selangor with a 1-1 record in Group Y.
Both teams will now face Pahang tomorrow (Aug 20) at noon in their final group match, with the runner-up position up for grabs.
