NORWAY: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has announced a plan to send students here to learn about carbon capture and storage (CCS).
Abang Johari said that by sending students, Sarawak can create more experts in this field.
He explained that both Sarawak and Norway share similarities in how they produce energy from sources like hydropower, oil, and gas.
“We want our students to go to Norway to learn all about the best ways to make CCS technology even better,” he said.
Abang Johari said this after meeting with the energy transition advisory company, Det Norske Veritas (DNV) here on yesterday.
Premier also said that he discussed this plan with Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
To go and study in Norway, students need to be good at English. They might even get the chance to learn Norwegian.
“I’m sure the Malaysian ambassador will help us find a good university for the students,” Premier said.
