KUCHING: The State Library will hold a Sarawakiana forum in conjunction with Sarawak Day titled “Sarawak anti-cession movement” at the Special Collections Room, Level 1, on Friday.
The forum will comprise panel members Dr. Suffian Mansor from UKM; Dr. Nadrawina Monday (UiTM) and former educationist Dr. Shahri Abdul Rahman with associate Professor Dr. Caesar Dealwis (UiTM) as moderator.
The objective of the forum is to serve as a platform to share and display the history of Sarawak’s anti-cession struggle against the British and to pay tribute to the fighters of the anti-cession movement for their contributions to the region.
Additionally, it aims to provide the public with a clear understanding of the issues related to Sarawak’s anti-cession movement, especially in the context of the struggle for Sarawak’s independence from British colonialism.
The forum will also highlight the role of Sarawak’s anti-cession movement in national independence and the contributions of the patriots.
