KUCHING: The Sarawakiana Forum, titled “Preserving Tangible and Intangible Heritage Arts in the Digitalization Era,” is set to take place tomorrow (Oct 19).

The forum will run from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on the ground floor of the Sarawak State Library (PUSTAKA).

PUSTAKA said the forum will feature distinguished panellists who have made significant contributions to the preservation of Sarawak’s heritage arts.

“The esteemed panellists include Danny Mohd Zulkifi, founder of D Keringkam, Ramtiniwati Ramlee, founder of Seri Gedong Songket and Dr Ipoi Datan who is the administration officer form Council for Native Customs and Traditions,

“The moderator would be Awangko Hamdan Awang Arshad who is a senior lecturer from Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS),” it said in a press release today (Oct 18).

PUSTAKA added that the forum aims to engage participants in an insightful discussion about the vital role and significance of heritage arts within the local community.

“Furthermore, the forum will explore the effectiveness of mass media and social media as crucial communication platforms for discussions and public awareness surrounding both tangible and intangible heritage arts.

“Moreover, the event will address the evolving challenges of utilising mass media and social media in the era of digitalisation,” it added.
