SIBU: The Sarawak State Library (Pustaka), Sibu will organise a two-day Sarawakiana Trail at Kapit Civic Centre beginning Friday (Nov 17), starting at 8am.

According to a statement, the event is part of a programme designed to promote the services of Pustaka, particularly its Sarawakiana Division, in the central region.

“The programme also aims to collect input, information, and resources for the preservation of the state’s heritage, especially in the fields of Sarawak history, social and culture, as well as topics related to local wisdom from the public.

“The collected information will be used for planning initiatives to develop the oral history collection and publication of Pustaka’s Sarawakiana book series.

“The programme will provide exposure to early childhood literacy skills, knowledge of digital inclusivity, and increase participants’ awareness of the importance of knowledge culture and lifelong learning.”

Several programmes are scheduled to be held during the event, including Sarawakiana talks, Sarawakiana briefings, Information and Digital Literacy sessions, Customer Day, aerobics fiesta, blood donation campaign, health screening, colouring competition, and an exhibition cum sales booths with partners such as Saberkas Kapit Branch, Sarakup Indu Sarawak Dayak, Kapit Health Clinic, and many more.
