KUCHING: Sarawakian students, especially Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) school leavers, have the opportunity to secure employment at various hospitals in the state through the Diploma in Nursing programme offered by i-Systems College Kuching.
Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the college provides not only an educational programme but also full funding and allowances to students.
This is a positive step in providing stable employment opportunities for young people while supporting workforce development in the health sector, she said.
“Nursing students who complete their diplomas will be an important asset in the industry,” she said in a press conference at Kuching International Airport on Monday (June 3).
Nancy explained that i-Systems College Kuching will collaborate with her ministry to ensure all training provided in the health sector is comprehensive and of high quality.
“Nurses and caregivers in our institution have indeed received basic training, but at a basic level.
“However, we must address the current needs of the country, which require not only physical training but also theoretical knowledge. That’s why we need more people who are properly trained,” she said.
