Sarawakku Reading Carnival to kick off on Sept 28

SIBU: The Sarawak State Library (Pusaka) Sibu will hold the Sarawakku Reading Carnival with Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya at the Jemoreng Village Library this Saturday (Sept 28).

The programme will start at 8am with exhibitions, talks and children’s activities.

According to Pusaka Sibu’s media statement, the carnival launch session with Dr Juanda, who is also the Jemoreng assemblyman, will start at 10.30am.  

“The Sarawakku Reading Carnival is an effort to instill an interest in reading and foster a culture of knowledge and knowledge among the people of Sarawak in order to develop a more knowledgeable, informed and well-informed society.

“This programme will be held in the form of a carnival to create a fun atmosphere in educating and encouraging the community to continue reading and learning regardless of age.  

“Various interesting activities related to reading or reading encouragement will be held for all ages starting from children to the elderly, apart from improving handicraft art skills as well as knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the local community”.

Among them are PANDei Talks, Innovation Competitions, Community talks, SDG activities and Makers workshops. 

Not to be left out,  fun activities for children will include colouring competitions, storytelling sessions as well as STEM activities.

The  carnival, the statement added,  will also feature service exhibition from various government agencies and non-governmental organisations ( NGOs) that will start as early as 8am such as the National Library of Malaysia, Mukah Public Library, University of Technology Sarawak, Laila Taib College and many more.
