Sarawak’s boxing team stays focused as competition nears

SRI AMAN: The Sarawak Malaysia Games (Sukma) boxing team is focusing on getting comfortable in the ring as competition approaches.

The boxers have started their sparring sessions to prepare for the upcoming event.

This competition is expected to attract large crowds, showcasing the talents of Sarawak’s finest boxers.

According to a recent Facebook post from the Sarawak Boxing Association, there will be 12 male and three female competitors vying for glory at Sukma. There will be a total of 15 gold medals up for grabs.

“Let’s fill the Simanggang Indoor Stadium, Sri Aman from Aug 16 to Aug 23. Let’s rally together to support Sarawak!” the post urged.

The association also shared several photos on their Facebook page, capturing the young boxers in action as they engaged in rigorous outdoor training exercises, demonstrating their commitment and determination to excel in the ring.

Sri Aman is known for its strong boxing tradition, having produced star Daeloniel Mcdelon Bong, also known as ‘Kilat Boy’.
