KUCHING: The usage of smart home devices system at Datum Jelatek condominiums in Kuala Lumpur will showcase an outstanding creation of digital technology by Sarawakians.

In stating this, Centre for Technology Excellence (CENTEXS) Commercial general manager Shahren Yusri said the collaboration between CENTEXS and Datumcorp International Sdn Bhd was seen as the platform to introduce the services offered by CENTEXS.

“The most special thing about the smart home devices is that it is integrated by graduates from the institution.”

He added that for starters, the first phase would involve at least 500 modern condominium units, equipped with digital technology concept, using voice command to give orders verbally through Internet connection.

“After all, the idea to commercialise the system started with the implementation of Automation Smart Building Training or Latihan Automasi Bangunan Pintar that is offered by CENTEXS under the Digital Academy and thus creating Smart City from there.

“This device system indirectly increases the level of comfort, electricity friendly, the security level is maintained, and easing the resident’s daily activities.”

He said this during the press conference of the strategic collaboration between CENTEXS and Datumcorp International Sdn Bhd here on Friday (Jan 13).

Datumcorp chief executive officer Mohd Azmil Abd Shukor added that the location of Datum Jelatek was suitable for the organisation of activities and programmes that involved the tourism cuisine product and heritage of Sarawak.

“At the moment, the shopping centre has at least seven premises for a well known coffee brand and we are targeting another 30 premises to be rented to the entrepreneurs, including small and medium enterprises in the first three months.”
