“Out of 808 participants, a total of 86 participants have earned more than RM1.2 million through online selling by using Facebook and Instagram. “We are proud with this figure because we manage to improve the micro entrepreneurs’ income in Sarawak. Rohani also pointed out that Sa rawa kians can pa rticipate in the next training programme in December this year at 15 locations throughout the state.
“The locat ions are set by Ma l ay s i a Di g i t a l Economy Corporation (MDEC) and people can refer to this to get the schedule about the training programme,” she pointed out.
On the programme, Samarahan is the last destination for the sixth series of the tour programme after doing it in the other five destinations including Kuching, Miri, Limbang, Sri Aman, and Sibu.
“This programme aims to assist the Low Income Household (LIH) and B40 category (people with monthly income of RM4,000 and below) to generate their income through digital economy.
“In line with the state’s current agenda which is focusing on the digital economy, this programme is very timely and much needed to make the agenda into success,” she said. During the ceremony, Rohani also handed 1AZAM assistance to 21 recipients.
