BINTULU: Sarawak bagged a bronze medal at the 2024 Malaysia Games (Sukma) Muay Thai event through Mohammad Izzat Zulfaqar Hazrid in the men’s 60-63.5kg category.

Mohammad Izzat Zulfaqar lost to Terengganu’s Ahmad Nor Iman Alif Rakib.

Ahmad Nor Iman was superior on all levels, dominating the first round with a score of 17-1. He picked up an additional four points in the second round.

Mohammad Izzat Zulfaqar persevered and tried to mount a comeback in the third round, scoring another four points. However, he lost 5-24.

Five other Sarawak exponents will be competing in the final on Tuesday (Aug 20) – Azhad Haziq Syafaat A. Khalid (67-71kg )Texas Jeremy Lo (54-57kg), Muhammad Mikail Ghazali Zulfikar (51-54kg), Cherilynn Christalle Chan Qi Qi (51-54kg) and Maurien Hii Sie Lin (48-51kg).
