KUCHING: Kuching’s own Samuel Rentap is optimistic about leading Terengganu to victory against ATM in the Agong’s Cup on Saturday.

As the only Sarawakian on the Terengganu squad, Samuel is eager to make a significant impact.

“I’ve been representing Terengganu since 2022, and now I’m in my third year.

“The last time we faced ATM, we clinched a narrow win by just 2 points,” he shared.

The lad of Iban-Chinese parentage who is also on the Malaysian rugby team emphasises the importance of caution, acknowledging the challenges ahead.

“They are a formidable opponent that we can’t afford to underestimate, especially in the quarter-finals stage,” he stated.

As he prepares to start in the upcoming match, Samuel is confident in his team’s readiness.

“I believe we’ve done everything necessary to prepare for the match against ATM,” he added.

The 27-year-old has his sights set firmly on the game and is determined to give his best performance and help lead his team to victory.
