SARIKEI: Residents here recently received 13 cows from their Member of Parliament (MP), Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii for sacrificial purposes in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha.
To ensure fairness, the cows were distributed in two parts. Eight cows were allocated to the Muslim community in Sarikei, while the remaining cows were given for the Meradong area.
Representing Huang, Kapitan Ling Dien Yong distributed the cows to the recipients during the sacrificial ceremony at Nur Permai mosque here today (July 1).
Also present were Kuala Rajang assemblyman Datuk Len Talif Salleh and Tanjong Manis MP Ir Yusuf Abdul Wahab.
