SARIKEI: Sarikei MP Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii responded to the hardship faced by a family of eight whose home in Jalan Min Tak was consumed by an early morning fire last Saturday (Oct 21).
Huang, who is also the federal Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, extended a helping hand by donating essential items, including food and necessities, to alleviate the burdens faced by the victims.
The Repok assemblyman’s contribution was aimed at providing relief for the family during this difficult time.
Despite the devastating fire that destroyed their home around 2am last Saturday, all family members, including a six-month-old baby, managed to escape unharmed as they sought refuge at a relative’s house.
The donation was presented to the family by Penghulu Huang Tiong Kang, representing Huang, on Tuesday (Oct 24).
