SARIKEI: Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii has called on Sarawakians to align with the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government goal led by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He stressed the importance of supporting the government’s efforts to implement developmental transformation while prioritising the people’s interests.

“May all our efforts further enhance the prestige of the GPS government,” he said in his speech at the Sarikei Ngiling Bidai Celebration held at the Sarikei Civic Centre on Jalan Langsat yesterday (June 15).

The Sarikei MP expressed his gratitude for the leadership of Abang Johari, noting that Sarawakians are fortunate to have such a visionary leader who prioritises the welfare of the people.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to Premier Abang Johari for bringing about many positive changes.

“These include infrastructure development projects, basic supplies, and social support, which have significantly improved the quality of life in Sarawak and ensured that rural areas are not left behind,” he added.

The Repok assemblyman also thanked those who voted for him in the last state and general elections, expressing hope for their continued support.

Regarding the programme, Huang said that its aim is to allow local residents to directly convey their issues and requests to their representative and to strengthen the relationship between leaders and the local community.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to be here with all the attendees celebrating this event. Congratulations and well done to the organising committee members who have worked hard to make this programme a success,” he said.
