RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has approved the designs for the world’s tallest sports tower, set to be constructed in Riyadh, Xinhua reported on Wednesday, citing the Saudi Press Agency.

The Global Sports Tower will be a prominent landmark within the Sports Boulevard project.

According to the report, the tower was designed to stand at 130 metres with an internal area of 84,000 square metres.

It will include more than 30 different sports facilities and a 98-metre-high indoor climbing wall which is expected to be the world’s tallest.

Saudi Arabia launched the Sports Boulevard project in 2019, which was designed to encompass over 4.4 million square metres of greenery, open spaces, and up to 50 multidisciplinary sports facilities. – BERNAMA-XINHUA
