KUCHING: Sarawak Agriculture Vocational Training Institute (SAVTI) in Kabuloh, Miri has become a highly sought-after institution for the oil palm industry in Sarawak.

In a press release issued by Sarawak Skills today (April 6), officials from major oil palm companies visited SAVTI to recruit graduates, highlighting the quality and relevance of the training provided by the institute in line with industry needs.

“SAVTI offers the Oil Palm Plantation Operation and Supervision program, which has a Malaysian Skills Certificate – Level 3,” said its centre manager Maccolin Jengok. “Its strategic location provides many internship and career opportunities for students and trainees, and many of them are able to secure jobs before graduation.”

“Recently, 25 final-semester students and 10 SAVTI alumni attended an interview conducted by officials from Sarawak Plantation Berhad and the interviews were conducted by the company’s general manager Abdul Halim Joseph Upi (Northern Region) and two managers.”
