SayD’Signers Pavilion main draw at Sarawak Design Week

KUCHING: The SayD’Signers Pavilion will be the main feature at the Sarawak Design Week from Feb 13 to 16 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching here.

The four-day event is from 10am to 6pm is located in the middle of the main exhibition hall on the ground floor of BCCK, and the SayD’Signers Pavilion will showcase furniture designs by 32 young designers from Batches 1 to 4 of the SayD’Signers Sarawak programme.

Saradec chief executive officer Dayang Nena Abang Bruce said the SayD’Signers Pavilion had been built to showcase the unique furniture designs created by the immensely talented young designers.

“Visitors will be able to view their unique designs and get more information simply by scanning the QR code accompanying each of the furniture showcased.

“In addition, all 32 SayD’Signers themselves will be available to provide more information on their designs and answer all the questions you may have. So come over to BCCK and experience the inaugural Sarawak Design Week 2023.”

The event, which will be launched by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, will be the first homegrown design-led expo in Malaysia.

#SDW2023 will bring together some of the most innovative and creative minds in the design industry, showcasing the latest trends as well as technologies in architecture, fashion, graphic design, and more.

Sarawak Design Week 2023 is organised by Saradec and Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia, endorsed by the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts as well as Ministry of International Trade & Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development, and supported by Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation. 

The event’s strategic partners include Sarawak Timber Association, Sarawak Furniture Industry Association, Sarawak Tourism Board, Tun Jugah Foundation, CENTEXS Commercial, University of Technology Sarawak, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kolej Komuniti, Ran & Nong Creations, Dr Dorothy & Group, as well as involvement from the economic, trade, and tourism sectors.
