SIBU: Several areas in Sibu will experience a scheduled water supply disruption on October 26.

According to a notice from the Sibu Water Board (SWB), the water supply disruption is expected to last for four to six hours, starting from 10pm until completion.

Among the affected areas listed are Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce (Salim Road Shortcut) – Lorong 60 to 66 (including the Petronas Station), Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (Lorong Tunku Abdul Rahman 42, Rh. Sebastian, Jalan Rafflesia, Jalan Jade Villa, Taman Azalea, Taman Sanhill, Sibu Airport, and Eco Garden) and Sibu Jaya.

Several other areas include Jalan Durin Link to Durin Bridge, Jalan Nibong Tada (including the Nibong Tada Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) booster pump station), Taman Kemuyang, Kem Rascom, Rh. Nari to Sibu/Bintulu traffic lights.

The water supply disruption is due to pipe modifications and electrical cable modifications for the Salim Water Treatment Plant Phase II expansion project.

SWB also advised users to store an adequate water supply for their needs during the disruption period.

The notice also informs that water supply will be gradually restored in the affected areas and commits to completing the work as soon as possible.
