BAU: Police arrested a 25-year-old man suspected to be involved in selling illegal lottery at a guard house of a primary school in Kampung Kandis Lama, Siniawan.

District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said a police team arrested the suspect in an operation codenamed ‘Ops Dadu’ around 6pm last Saturday (June 12).

“Also seized in the operations was cash amounting to RM490 and a paper with suspected lottery numbers.

“The man along with the seizure, were later brought to the police station for further action,” he said.

Background check found that the suspect did not have any past record. The case is being investigated under Section 4A (a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.

If found guilty, he faces a fine of between RM20,000 and RM200,000, and up to five years in jail.
